Provident Attends NY ROUTE 9A/North State Road Reconstruction Ribbon Cutting

RT 9A-Group-2Westchester County Executive George Latimer with Provident’s Brian Dempsey and Ralph Peragine at the Ribbon Cutting for the NY Route 9A and North State Road Reconstruction.

Ralph Peragine, P.E. and Brian Dempsey, P.E., PTOE represented Provident at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the reconstruction of the intersection of NY Route 9A and North State Road in the Village of Briarcliff Manor. Ralph was the Design Engineer for the project and also provided the Construction Management. Brian was the Traffic Engineer for the project and developed several alternatives to improve the operation of the intersection. Two of the four approaches to the intersection were widened to provide turning lanes and a new traffic signal system was designed. The project was very complex with limited right-of-way, a large culvert, and various other constraints which restricted the potential improvements. Multiple government agencies were involved including the Village of Briarcliff Manor, the Town of Ossining, Westchester County and the New York State Department of Transportation.  State Senator David Carlucci and State Assemblywoman Sandy Galef also provided assistance in obtaining the joint funding required to complete the project.
